Moonstone is a mineral that comes from the feldspar group. Moonstone colours vary from white, colourless or light greyish blue. The rainbow moonstone often produces a full spectrum of colours when turned under a light, hence its name. In India, moonstone is considered a sacred stone and has a floating light effect and sheen, called adularescence, similar to the light of the moon.
